Importing Trades via Broker Sync

Step 1: Visit the Broker Sync Page

  • Go to the TradeZella broker sync page directly here.
  • Alternatively, navigate to the broker sync page by hovering over the sidebar, clicking on "Add Trade," and selecting "Broker Sync."

Step 2: Select Tradovate as Your Broker and Input Details

  • Click on "Add New Broker" on the broker sync page.
  • Choose "Tradovate" from the list of available brokers.
  • Leave the start date option blank to import all records or specify a custom start date if needed.
  • Select either "Live" or "Demo," depending on your account type.
  • Click "Connect."

Note: If your account doesn't appear, try selecting the opposite (Live or Demo). Tradovate sometimes classifies accounts under demo credentials even if they're live and vice versa. Selecting the correct option should resolve this issue.

Step 3: Authenticate and Sync

  • In the Tradovate pop-up window, enter your credentials.
  • If Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled, complete that process to proceed with the sync.

TradeZella will begin syncing your Tradovate account. You can monitor the sync status here on the broker sync page.

Important Notes:

  • Commissions: Tradovate does not include commissions in its data. You can manually add commissions and fees in TradeZella or set default commission rules. Learn how to set default commissions here.

Pro Tip: Use the account filter in the top right corner to switch between accounts effortlessly.

By following these steps, you'll have your Tradovate account seamlessly integrated with TradeZella for automated trade imports.

Importing Trades via File Upload Method

With our straightforward guide, you can easily import your trades from ATAS into TradeZella. Follow these steps to ensure your trading data stays accurate and up-to-date.

Exporting trade data from ATAS into a file

  • Open the Tradovate desktop platform.
  • Click on the ACCOUNTS tab in the upper panel and choose the account for which you want to export trades.
  • Next to the selected account, click on the gear/settings icon.
  • On the settings page, click on the ORDERS tab.
  • Enter the dates you wish to export and click Go.
  • Click Download Report to save the file to your computer.

Uploading the exported file into TradeZella

  • Go to the TradeZella File Upload page.
  • Select the account where you want to upload this file.
  • Choose "Tradovate" from the broker list.
  • Select the timezone of the file here.

NOTE: Your Tradovate data is exported in the local timezone by default, so please ensure you select your local timezone for accurate timestamps and entry and exits in the Trade charts.

  • Upload the saved CSV file containing your trades.

TradeZella will handle the rest, ensuring your Tradovate trades are accurately imported.

Common Errors

  • File Upload Issues: If your file fails to upload, ensure it was exported from the ORDERS tab to avoid import issues.
  • Correct Headers: Check that your CSV file matches the correct import headers:

orderId | Account | Order ID | B/S | Contract | Product | Product Description | avgPrice | filledQty | Fill Time | lastCommandId | Status | _priceFormat | _priceFormatType | _tickSize | spreadDefinitionId | Version ID | Timestamp | Date | Quantity | Text | Type | Limit Price | Stop Price | Filled Qty | Avg Fill Price

Important Notes

  • Commissions: Tradovate does not include commissions in their CSV file. You can manually add commissions and fees in TradeZella or set default commission rules here.
  • Time Zone Issues: If you notice discrepancies in entry and exit points on the trade chart, ensure you select your local timezone correctly during the import process. Read more about resolving this issue here.
  • Sync Import: TradeZella also supports sync import methods for Tradovate. You can sync your account directly from the broker sync page here.
